Slop Atlas is an independent informational publication. It is published by an individual editorial team with no institutional backing, no funding from technology companies, and no commercial relationship with the subjects it writes about.
No affiliation
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Merriam-Webster, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Wikimedia Foundation, Reddit, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, or any other company, platform, dictionary publisher or organisation named anywhere on this site.
Company and product names appear only for identification. All trademarks belong to their owners. Mentions are not endorsements, and criticism is not an accusation of illegality.
Third-party projects and publications discussed here, including “Your AI Slop Bores Me” and other independent projects, are the work of their own authors. We are not connected to them, we do not speak for them, and we do not reuse their branding, artwork, text or visual identity.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is legal, medical, financial, journalistic or academic advice. Pages here explain a cultural and technical phenomenon. If you need to make a decision with real consequences, such as a platform policy question, a publication standard, a plagiarism allegation or a copyright dispute, consult someone qualified in that field and check the primary documents yourself.
Accuracy, sourcing and corrections
We aim to source every factual claim and to link the sources on the page where the claim appears. Even so:
- The vocabulary around AI slop is young and contested. Where a definition is disputed, we say so rather than picking a winner silently.
- Research and platform policies in this area move quickly. A page that was correct when published may be out of date later. Each page shows a published date and an updated date; the updated date is the one to trust.
- We cannot verify what any particular piece of content on the internet was generated by. We do not claim to.
If you find an error, tell us at editorial@slopatlas.com and include the page URL and the specific claim. Corrections are welcome and are made public in the page itself.
Quotation of third-party material
Where we quote a source, we quote briefly and credit it with a link. Quotations appear for the purpose of commentary, criticism, reporting and explanation. If you hold rights in something quoted here and you object to how we have used it, contact us and we will review it promptly.
Advertising and affiliate disclosure
The page templates contain labelled advertising slots. No advertising network is active on this site. If advertising is switched on, it will be labelled, kept out of the reading path, and it will not affect editorial content.
Some pages may in future contain affiliate links, where we may earn a commission if you buy something. That is not the case on any page today. If it becomes the case, the disclosure will appear on the page itself, above the link, not buried in this document.
